NEW BEDFORD, MA - OPINION; The freshest water if left alone will eventually become undrinkable. For three years Scott Lang has been left alone for the most part to prove that he is the Mayor he promised he could be . HE, or as HE sold it, WE would get together and make New Bedford a great place. Things starched well with the Great Ideas Forums. For almost two years, we activists, the general citizenship and the paid media gave Mayor Lang all the rope he needed. With the beginning of year three, it was becoming increasingly clear that Mayor Lang's great ideas did not mesh with the citizen's great ideas. A schism was developing. The excuse that “the former” administration did it, can no longer be used as a “good” excuse. He may have started “it”, but Mayor Lang has allowed “it” to fester and grow.

NEW BEDFORD, MA - There is opportunity in the air. We have a Dummycrat in the white house who has a Dummycratic friend who likes to send dead fish to his political enemies. A match made in heaven, No? Is Lang Doodle listening?

NEW BEDFORD, MA - POLITICAL OPINION; It is becoming exceptionally clear that the Mayor that scammed his way into office three years ago on the promise of openness, fairness and anti-corruption has embraced the counter behavior with such gusto only his predecessor could really appreciate the depth of it. It is time that the political activists become true weasel hunting professionals. After all, a lowly small dog has been flushing out weasels for centuries.

Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism.
George Washington
NEW BEDFORD, MA - Opinion - Congratulations to President Elect Barack Obama is a common sentiment espoused by many in the media or amongst polite company, even those with a right wing lean. However, is this genuine rhetoric, or are such conciliatory statements simply gratuitous. Any man (or woman) of worth or value, relishes his or her opinion and rightly should not be easily dislodged without worthy contestation. A contest of wits that proves beyond a reasonable doubt that one's opinion should be changed or modified. The argument that everyone else is doing it, is an argument for the feeble minded or children. As such I cannot bring myself to wish Barack Obama a good presidency or even wish him luck. I have little faith in human nature and I have less faith in those who would distort or modify under the microscope of criticism.

NEW BEDFORD, MA - It is inevitable that a politician will begin to carry some questionable baggage during his or her career. In Scott Lang's case his baggage is particularly notable because he was elected with the promise of eliminating such baggage. Well Mayor Lang, you have broken a record . More corruption and special deals in less time than any other maypr before you.
